NURTuRE-CKD reaches half-way mark (August 2018)
We are delighted to report that we have reached the half-way mark of 1500 patients recruited to NURTuRE-CKD. This is a very significant milestone and reflects the effort and enthusiasm at all sites, with many people going “above and beyond” to overcome obstacles and help get us to this important point. There is still much more to do before we reach our final target of 3000 patients, but a moment to celebrate will create the positive energy to propel us forwards. Congratulations and thank you to everyone working on NURTuRE. Fiona Robertson and Maarten Taal

Launch of unique kidney biobank
Weds 14 June 2017
Kidney Research UK, the UK charity dedicated to funding research into kidney disease, has launched the first kidney biobank covering England, Scotland and Wales. The biobank has been named NURTuRE (the National Unified Renal Translational Research Enterprise). Developed in the first instance to collect and store biological samples from 3,000 patients with chronic kidney disease (CKD) and at least 800 patients with nephrotic syndrome (NS), the biorepository will provide a strategic resource for fundamental and translational research. In addition to the samples of plasma, serum, urine, DNA and tissue that will be stored, the repository will also have the considerable advantage of containing associated linked clinical data, through the UK Renal Registry.
